The Story

Finding God in a complex world

I'm Geoff.

I'm a Husband to my wonderful wife Jo, whom I married in 2008

I'm a Father to two wonderful children.

I'm a teacher of Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics at a Catholic Secondary school in the East Midlands.

I grew up in the Church of England, a wonderful parish in Derby, with a loving, welcoming and dedicated community.  The young people were engaged, active participants.   But journey, through youth and community work, led me to meet Jo, and in order to spend more time with her, I agreed to attend her Catholic Church.   On my first occasion there, something struck me.

Something more powerful than anything before.

But nothing and no one could explain it to me.

That was in 2005 - and here, 20 years later I begin this journey to bring the unexplainable theology, the everyday theology to life.

We need academic theology, we need Aquinas, Irenaeus, Augustine and so on.

We need, "Catholicism for Dummies" and other works that start with the basics.

But as a man, a husband, a father and a worker, (equally for wives, mothers and workers), we need everyday theology.  that cuts through the parenting, the worry, the reality of everyday life.  We need to make sense of the mess and chaos and find God.

So here we are.
